A Charity Run By VolunteersContrary to popular belief our Scout group, just like all Scout groups, is a charity. We receive no funding from the Scout Association for the work that we do, nor do our leaders or helpers get paid for their time. In fact, each year we have to pay the Scout Association thousands of pounds simply to remain a part of the Scouting movement. Obviously we cannot provide this service to the young people in our community without help, so we rely on donations from the parents and families to fund the activities that we provide for the children and young adults in our care. Just like other groups, we have a great many bills to pay each year including; rent on the Scout hut, heating, water, purchase and maintenance of our minibus, materials for our activities, tools, building and grounds maintenance, tents and other camping equipment..... the list is almost endless. Our leaders and helpers provide their service to the group in their spare time. They receive nothing in return aside from the satisfaction of seeing the young people in the community grow into successful balanced adults. We need your help! There are many ways that you can contribute to the finances of the Scout group, and some of them are simpler than you might think. |

Donate directly to the group fundsPerhaps unsurprisingly, this is the simplest and most effective way of supporting our Scout group. We will always warmly receive donations of any size towards our group. Please hand any donations to a group leader when you drop off or collect your child/youngster, you will be making a very valuable contribution to your community and you will always earn our gratitude! Alternatively you can donate to the group right now from the comfort of your chair. We accept all major credit and debit cards, you can donate from any country using any currency, we use a very well established external secure site to process your donation, and the process is very easy. Please click on the "Make a Donation" button below and follow the instructions shown. Thank you! |

Where is the money used? The costs of running a Scout group are often much higher than people realise. We spend and enormous amount each year purchasing the equipment and materials that we need to run activities for our group members. Examples include paper, pens, games and sports equipment, heating, lighting, mini-bus maintenance, camping equipment, tables, chairs, the list is endless! Click to learn more about how we use our funds. |

Printer CartridgesYou may not be aware that every time you change the ink/toner cartridge in your printer at home or at work, you can make a valuable contribution to the group. If we return the cartridges in bulk, printer manufacturers will pay us a small amount towards our group funds. It may not be much for each cartridge, but if we can collect enough of them then the money soon adds up. Please wrap the old cartridge from your laser or inkjet printer, preferably in its original packaging but if necessary in a sealed plastic bag, and hand it to one of our leaders. We will collect them and once we have enough we will return them to the manufacturer. If you work in an office, please ask if you may collect the empty cartridges and bring them to us. You can download and print |
